  • Biography

Chao-Hsiung Tseng (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in communication engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU), Taipei, Taiwan in 2004.

From February 2004 to July 2005, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering, the National Taiwan University (NTU). From August 2005 to July 2006, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, USA, as a Visiting Scholar. In August 2006, he joined the faculty of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taipei, where he became a full Professor in 2013 and a Distinguished Professor in 2021. He was the Vice Chairperson of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering from August 2011 to July 2012, and Chairman of the Inter-disciplinary Bachelor’s Program from August 2012 to July 2013. From November 2013 to February 2014, he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Florida (UF), Gainesville, FL, USA, as a Visiting Scholar. In February 2024, he joined the Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, as a Professor of the Institute of Space Systems Engineering. His research interests include microwave communication electronics, radio-frequency microfluidic sensors, noncontact vital-sign radar sensors, and microwave circuits and modules.

Dr. Tseng is now a member of the IEEE MTT-S Technical Committees (TC-28 Biological Effects and Medical Applications). He received 2008, 2014, 2018, and 2022 Teaching Awards, and 2012, 2020, and 2021 Research Awards from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
